My working title for this project was jambience - each of these pieces started out as a jam with myself. A phrase would become a loop, then other loops would be added on, then other sections suggest themselves. Sometimes I used notation software to clarify the ideas and feelings. Then production, editing, mixing... letting my heart guide me into the music, letting the music take me deeper into my heart.

This project was realized in Ableton Live, with plugins from Toontrack, Spectrasonic, iZotope, Valhalla and a few others. Guitar processing and audio interface functions are provided by Fractal Audio's Axe-Fx III. I used an Eastman AC822CE-FF and a custom multi-scale Koll Tornado in GC tuning: C-G-d-a-e'-g' low to high. I also used several multi-scale 7 string guitars in CLT (Chris's Loony Tuning), which is D-G-c-f-a-d'-g' low to high. These instruments include: Murray Kuun's Ghia7 electric nylon string; Gregory Paul German's DB7 archtop; David Myka's #160, a beautiful Engleman/walnut semi-hollow; Alexander Claas's custom-modded Moby Dick 7 with a tremolo bridge and Ezi pickups; and Christopher Forshage's Orion 7, also with an Ezi pickup and a custom bridge by the amazingly generous Saul Koll. These wonderful instruments inspire me to keep practicing in the hope that someday my playing will be worthy of the creative design and meticulous craftsmanship that went into their making.
